Jamaica Mountain Peak Chai Latte, hot and iced

Salada Foods Jamaica Limited has added a chai latte to its Jamaica Mountain Peak range, bringing a spiced, tea-based drink to its line-up of instant beverages.

The new JMP Chai Latte went on sale in September after more than a year of research and development. It is a three-in-one drink made with black tea and a masala spice blend of cardamom, cinnamon, clove and ginger, together with piperine, and it can be enjoyed hot or cold.

“We know Jamaicans love their tea, so within Salada’s promise to innovate, we are bringing chai to market for Jamaicans to try,” said General Manager Tamii Brown. “Our team has developed a creamy, comforting three-in-one drink that is packed with the warm goodness of real spices.”

Brown noted that the chai latte gives a gentler caffeine lift than a coffee latte, along with antioxidants from black tea and locally sourced spices. She described it as part of Salada’s wider strategy to diversify its portfolio, drive innovation and find new growth opportunities.

It is the company’s seventh innovation in the last 30 months, joining the Golden Turmeric Latte with Pumpkin Spice, the three-in-one coffee mixes (Original, Cinnameg, Caramel and Coconut Cappuccino) and Sorrel Hibiscus, launched in November 2025.

The formulation and packaging were designed to meet export specifications. “We are looking forward to establishing chai latte in the Jamaican market as we build consumer awareness and gather market insights that can inform our international expansion strategy,” Brown said, adding that entry into overseas markets will depend on each country’s regulations, distributor readiness and commercial arrangements.
