Salada reaping from efficiencies and export market moves

Third-quarter net profit more than doubled as Salada grows in US and Caribbean markets, with Sorrel Hibiscus contributing month-on-month.

Salada Foods Jamaica Limited more than doubled third-quarter net profit, helped by stronger sales, wider margins and efficiency gains across domestic and export markets.

Net profit for the three months ended 30 June 2026 reached J$68.3 million — up 120% from J$31 million a year earlier — while revenue climbed 16.1% to J$443.4 million.

General Manager Tamii Brown pointed to distribution progress in the United States and the Caribbean: “We’re seeing the benefits of our efforts in the USA and the Caribbean. In the United States, we’re growing through some of the main supermarket chains in the South and through Amazon. In the Caribbean, we’re seeing growth primarily in Barbados. Our mainstay coffee line continues to grow in both the domestic and export markets.”

Innovation is also lifting the Jamaica Mountain Peak portfolio. Since launching Sorrel Hibiscus in October 2025, Salada has seen month-on-month growth at home and abroad. “Our Sorrel Hibiscus also continues to grow, even outside the traditional festive period — consumers are now enjoying it right throughout the year,” Brown said.

Gross margin widened to 33% from 29.5%, with operating profit up 148.6% to J$87.4 million in the quarter. Administrative expenses fell 29.1%, and for the nine months ended 30 June the company generated J$148.2 million in operating cash (versus an outflow a year earlier) and declared an interim dividend of J$0.069 per stock unit.

Nine-month revenue was J$1.28 billion (+11.5%) with net profit of J$168.5 million (+40.6%).
